Lincoln Police For the past ten years we have struggled to develop a yardstick of how our community policing can be measured. As a CALEA agency we do surveys. We attend meetings, school events, local events and all the time looking for feedback. Ten years ago during Christmas we received one box of cookies. This year every day we we given 3 or 4 boxes of treats up until the end of the New Year. While it is totally unscientific, maybe it is the best feedback we have received. February 2nd at 8:43AM ET
Madison City Police Department The Madison Team just finished our annual Trunk and Treat, but we added a new twist. After we met with hundreds of kids and their parents from our community, we stocked our second shift patrol cars with candy and let them drive to their assigned neighborhoods and hand out candy. Wow, what a response, I’m not sure who had more fun, the children or the officers…at times it was hard to tell them apart. November 1st at 4:35PM ET
Madison City Police Department Community Policing Team: Thank you again for recognizing the Madison City Police Department as a finalist for the IACP/Cisco Community Policing Award. It was an honor to be in the company of such great people and we learned a great deal through networking and fellowship; not to mention just a great time at Tommy Guns’ Garage. John Before I get swallowed up (like most of you) in the day to day world and forget, I wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed the meeting, reception, banquet, and workshop in Chicago. Sometimes it feels like we are still pushing a big rock up a steep hill, but it is really energizing for me to spend this time with all of you each year. I particularly appreciate the leadership Todd provides and the incredible sponsorship of Cisco. Thanks to all of you. John Luse October 31st at 8:01AM ET
